Grant Awarded from UArizona's Environment and Sustainable Development Initiative
During the spring of 2019, I applied for and was awarded a grant for research, collaboration, and engagement relating to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Proposals were reviewed by a small committee of faculty and former awardees. The program is supported by a grant from UArizona's Research office to Professor Diana Liverman for work on the environment and the SDGs.
The funding allowed me to travel to Nairobi, Kenya, where I conducted an impact evaluation of the Kenya Youth Employment & Skills (K-YES) Program. Introduced in 2015, the K-YES Program is a (USD) $21.791 million, 5-year youth workforce development program funded by USAID and implemented by RTI International.
